PremierBiomaterials is a biomaterials manufacturing company that specialises in manufacturing a high grade, high value calcium apatite called hydroxyapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2.
Hydroxyapatite is chemically similar to the mineral component of bones and hard tissues in humans and other mammals. For this reason, it is extensively used in research and development; synthetic bone graft substitutes; sustained-release drug delivery devices and in protein purification processes. It is one of a few materials that are classed as bioactive. It will therefore support osteoconduction when used in orthopaedic, dental and maxillofacial applications.
