HKPB Scientific is an innovative, broad-based, technology-driven company that specialises in R&D in the chemical, physical and biological sciences. The company is commercially engaged in the business of inventing, developing, patenting and licensing technologies for global commercial markets. Our strong capacity for growth is based on our diverse product pipeline.
HKPB Scientific established its first commercial spin out, Premier Biomaterials in early 2010. Premier Biomaterials is a manufacturing company that has a unique method for the production of a high grade, high valued biomaterial called, hydroxyapatite. This technology allows us to produce this high value biomaterial in a pure form, more efficiently and in greater volume than has been possible to date using existing manufacturing processes.
Our first spin out is being quickly followed by the next which is called Teraputix. This company has an early stage novel coating technology with a wide range of applications in the medical devices arena. Its technology allows for the application of drug eluting coatings in a rapid one step process to a diverse range of devices such as stents, pacemakers and orthopaedic implants. Other technologies that overcome challenges associated with renewable energy and manufacturing of other high grade, high value biomaterials are at an early stage of R&D in HKPB Scientific. Our diverse experience, knowledge and industry contact across many scientific fields ensures that we keep abreast of many pressing technological problems, which require solutions that we can provide.
